Hubble sees 'planet' around star

The historic first image of a planet circling another star may have been taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
The “planet”, 5-10 times the mass of Jupiter, is orbiting a small white dwarf star about 100 light-years away.

It’s most probably a big gassy one with an icey core, but enough about my ex girlfriend. This could be a bit special with the first time a planet is actual observed and not just a recorded doppler shift or something boring like that.

Here’s a peak, it doesn’t look like much but is special nonetheless.

i thought we always expected to have planets orbiting the stars (though not all)....
is it special only cuz its the first we think we're seeing????

Well I suppose everyone thought we'd actaully 'seen' one of these before, bully for you lot!
