HTC Wildfire S memory problems

Asslam o laikum,

I have purchased recently HTC wildfire S. thing which i did not know before that it has memory of just 150 mb for user available. I could not use memory card for installing my applications. Every thing I have to do is with in this limit. though I have not touched this limit as I bought just few days back. So is there any solution available to increase its memory or use memory card for installing and running applications.

Thanks

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

I had HTC wildfire and I inserted the card in it to increase it's memory. Buy a small SD chip card and insert it ,simple.

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

You can move applications to SD card, to do that Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Select the application (you can sort the installed apps by size, for that Menu -> Sort By size) and click Move to SD card or External Memory. Do this for all the application, then you will have more space for application installation. There are modes and apps to make the SD card as the default installation location, Google for it or check the Wildfire S section of XDA Dev (there was an app called ModeInstall Location, but you need Root to get its full use).

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

thnaks brothers but plz clarify me u meant by SD card a simple card which normally comes with mobile phone in 2 gb or 4 gb capacity or is it some thing special for that purpose. Actually i m unaware of many technicalities of mobiles, computers

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

Yep, SD card is the name of the small memory cards that go in cell phones.

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

I have tried to change the location of application storage to SD card. but the option of transferring the location does not allow to get it clicked. so in nutshell i cant transfer applications to SD neither any option available to download or save new applications directly to SD card. I have my fone right in my hand. so if any one knows solution tell me i will do it now

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

AFAIK you cant move all the applications to SD card unless you are rooted. Most of the games (90% of them) and applications (Non System apps) can be moved to SD card. And also, try to get a faster SD card (Class 6 or Class 10).

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

brother plz explain the concept of rooting and tell me in detail how can i do that. I m not aware of many technicalities of mobiles. thanks

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

Your phone’s memory is not 150mb. This is what i found on the specs:
Internal 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM (418 MB user-available)

How big is your SD card?

Get this app:

It will list out all the applications that can be moved to the SD

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

yes internet says that but infact memory is what i said. SD card is of 2 gb. but of no use in case of applications

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

So they made a special phone for you with less memory? Boy, you must feel bummed! :hehe:

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

no brother if u have one check settings- applications - storage use. here u find total memory of 150 mb

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

yar koi mairay ko problem ka solution e bta de

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

Why not? You can not only use the SD card for files, but you can also move applications to the SD card. I did that all the time, when I had my HTC Wildfire.

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

I have wildfire S might be having some different software. I tried to move the applications from internal memory to SD card but the option "move to SD card" does not allow to get it clicked. moreover yesterday there appeared a notification for deleting some messages. I had to delete some. I dont know how to handle this.

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

It does not allow you to move core system applications (like e-mail). There you will have the greyed out "move to SD card" button. But everything else (like Facebook, Skype, etc.) should be possible.

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

ok thnx main gr ja kr chek keru ga aj wo mobile gr e reh gia.

Re: HTC Wildfire S memory problems

Also, that move-apps-to-sdCard feature was introduced in Android 2.3. If you have an older OS you won't be able to do it.
