Sorry for the late response guys...the show was yesterday at the Granite Club on Bayview. It was a charity event hosted by DIL ...the tickets were already sold out weeks in advance and it was for only about 300 people. It was a great evening...I got to meet HSY and chat with him for a bit...he was very very nice.
And his collection...ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! I took loads of pics...but they came out really dark... I will definately upload them in the next few days!

Actually it was his same 2005 collection that he has showcased at a few other events...I had seen pictures of the clothes before...but in person...WOW the kaam ...the color combos...the cuts...AMAZING!
I know there is an event coming up this weekend in the NY area...and they usually have some Pakistani designers there... dulhanexpo.com or something like that.

LOL this event was full of fancy mancy aunties dripping of money...prices ki baat to pakistan meh karoongi when i visit his location in karachi next month! What I really liked about him was that he was really sweet...unlike other designers I have met who act like they are too good to talk to anyone!

My sister thought about buying some jahez pieces from him...his stuff is absolutely stunning, and his price range is similar to that of other high end designers. An average, off the rack, wedding jora runs $1500-$1800 (US)...obviously a custom couture piece will cost more, at least $2000+. A formal shalvar suit would open at about $400-$500. The quality of fabric and karigari, and the ingenuity of design make it well worth it.

i attended the expo yesterday guys. paindoo bridal wear with the same designs i have been seeing since the last five years yuck. the food was awesome. there was a HOT paki guy model and free mehendi so it wasnt all that bad... :)
