whats the thing with zari....is it something that ruins easy..i have heard a lot of people say they dont like it..

i just don't like the way it looks, to be honest. i didnt want my clothes to be either silver or gold kaam, i wanted beaded multicolour kaam with very few silver and gold accents and thank God thats what i got! :)

can you pls pls plssss post the original picture designed by karma? Your dress has really been done nicely! i mean its seems difficult to me to make out how the dress exactly looks like and which kaam has been used and how to explain them what u really want by looking only on the picture of a magazine

chanda_kh i have a few customemade shalwar kameez with kaam on it that i let made in quetta a few yrs back that had zari work on it! I will put pictures of them

Reasons why iprefere not to use or atleast have a very few of zari accents onmy outfits is because it can loose its color when u dryclean it! dependinding which dryclean u go to.
*It can get loose if you dont look out when you go with your churiyan over them...atleast i have experienced that!
* it has gone a little bit outdated , thread kaam and multi color beads and sequins are frequently used these days and are more delicate! really even i didnt know how much variety there is nowaddays as i used to let my outfits made by my cousins!
And other kinds of work last a bit longer and is less heavy

I am from holland and i ussually buy raw pure silk from here and send them to pakistan for the kaam, this wedding forums has helped me a lot to have more ideas and create the possibilities how to make nice combinations with other kinds of fabric and make it a whole nice looking outfit such as jamavar chiffon benarsi! Thanks a lot peeps !

this is the original karma gharara-

i sent both these pics to her. based on how well mine came out, i know another girl who is planning to have it made from rehana mirza for her sister’s nikah… so i think she’ll be well practiced in making it and you’ll just have to send her the pics and your measurements

i also love that its not just a mehendi gharara… the colours are so beautiful that you can wear it to any occassion.

its very different shade of purple, we cant say it rich purple, its more like eggplant. i saw that show live on TV. and i am in love with this saree :).
