So they finally released an “alpha” version of the port and I took a deep breath and dived into it. It was a bit nerve wrecking but the end was sweeter because of it.

I installed the SDK and for the next 10 mnts tried to pass commands to the TP but it just wouldn’t take. I just didn’t get why it wouldn’t work till I rebooted the lappy and suddenly it was smooth as my bald head. Here are some pictures I took while I went through the process.

I am looking forward for final release, WebOS has very limited applications.

I am too, but as this setup actually left my TP with a dual boot option I was happy with how it turned out. Since the install I’ve noticed a few bugs but for the most part its stable and working great.
Bugs:

  • The wifi disconnects if you leave the TP in sleep mode for over 10 mnts. Then you have to mess around (Off/on a few times) for it to kick in again.
  • The battery is being used up a lot more quickly with CM7 on than WebOS
  • The tablet got a half ounce heavier after the install.

Hopefully the CM7 team will be getting these resolved fairly quickly. For now its still an Alpha release. I’m very very happy with it.

Yesterday I upgraded to WebOS 3.0.4.077 - the difference was quite obvious. I could tell the apps would load faster and so was web browsing.
