It’s pretty simple, which is why I loved it to begin with, but im now wondering how exactly I should style it/accessorize to dress it up. On me its very figure hugging, kinda like the bodycon dresses… and hits right above the knee.
I’m thinking large silver hoops, lots of silver bracelets, or maybe a nice statement necklace. What would you lovely ladies recommend in terms of makeup, hair, shoes?
Try multiple (4-5)strand chain necklace in silver with silver hoops.. Hair pulled back with high pony tail Go for suede pumps in silver / grey or black maybe . Pair it with a nice clutch for a perfect evening look.
Keep your eyes highlighted with dark kohl but lips and cheeks understated.
Since it’s a blue dress with a white belt, if it were summer and if you’re legs are going to be bare (or nude tights), then I would go with white heels or even nude - with a matching clutch.
If you’re wearing it with black tights then I think black heels would be the best option.
Once you’ve decided that, then you can think about accessories.
stoppit is right about the whole black tights thing, that really does change how to style it dramatically.
Blue with a white belt huh, for some reason I have always hated hoop earrings. Maybe it's because i'm in texas so when I see hoop earrings I think of ghetto hispanic girls I grew up around lol. Anyhow I like the idea of a fringe necklace that matches the hardware of your belt so if it's silver then go for that if it's gold go for that (which would look great against blue) and simple earrings. It's spring so leave your hair out and maybe just leave some soft curls at the bottom of your hair (use a curling iron, separate curls with your fingers and then set with spray for an effortless bounce) Add a cute cocktail ring of a different color that compliments the blue be it green or yellow ...coral whatever and clutch that matches the belt and run with it.
If you are daring you could do red (really dark/almost maroon) tights with red pumps. Wear a red belt with it and wear gold accessories. Blue with red looks hot.
I don't like blue with black tights so if you weren't going to go for red then opt for grey with silver accessories.
thanks for the style tips guys! I was thinking more along the lines of gray stockings/leggings and shoes myself with all silver accessories but it seems like the weather is gonna be much warmer than I was expecting... boo! I may have to reconsider my choice.
I loveee the fringe necklace idea and will definitely be looking into it if the weather permits me to wear this dress in the end! I wanted to do a waterfall braid with this but havent been able to learn myself and doubt that the lady who does my hair knows either. Sleek ponytail it is!
