I taught my kids from a very young age to talk to God like He is their Friend. I encouraged them to have a relationship withHim rathar than just following rituals alone. This creates a companionship and a connection between them and Allah. To please Him they try and do what He orders without being forced .

If you want a child to pray regularly, then pray in jamat as a family. Alhamdulillah we have done this since before our children were too small to pray, but even when they were around 18 months they would stand with us and follow our motions. As a result, we have preteens who pray regularly, alhamdulillah. There are plenty of excellent workbooks, games, etc. out there for muslim kids now. Buy some and do them together. Take your kids to jumuah prayer, take them to the mosque, etc.

You can't MAKE anyone do anything, but if you set an example in your home of the behavior that you expect, then children will almost always follow it.

Actually I’ve found it easiest to teach Islam living right here in the US. There are temptations around, but none of the culture nonsense that causes so much confusion and none of the stereotypes. My kids were always shocked at how many people just ignore the adhaan in Pakistan. It’s easier to explain here that people behave a certain way because they don’t believe in God than to try to explain to a 10 year old why someone who claims to be a muslim is behaving that way.

Hiii bulbuliii ...thts a nice thread ...par Don t u think its too early to think about kids now ....haha kids honaay to do yaar phalaay ...i don t know abhee tak to shadee bhee nahee howee and Just engagement and girls used to thikn abt kids..... haha ...but nice thinking and good direction ....I really agree ..religion is soemthign jiss kii hum sab ko fikar karnee chahyee for our upcoming generations ..but First imp. step is tht we ourselves should a good practising muslim FIRST thn we can tell others ....actually yeh aik yaa Do din ki baat nahee ..Its a long term process..to plan out ...Yah u r RIGHT a kid's Basics Really matter ..

**Also another thing tht I think important is that Parents need to understand tht , We girls/guys need to have little praivacy when we are grown up ..18-24. u know after this age , eventually we wil get married ..I mena we need independence....as nobody wants tht --24 hours parents bachaay kaay sar par kharaay rahain ..I Mean An EYE Is watching u...so they need to understand we are grown up ...Parents should give us some free time and privacy ...so tht it shouldn t happen tht we need to say tht we can t live with them ..I mean we need to live alone...I think agar parents yeh baat samajh laynaa ---no kids want to live alone an independent bachlor LIFE..in a separate apartment or a flat ..

wht do u parents think and say about my this point ....FIRST ..thing do u ppl agree with me or not ...
