i dont really think it about assuming that they love you, its about how they make you feel and how you make them feel. You can love someone without telling them and without showing them. you can just tell…loves too abstract for this whole do they or dont they stuff.

If i knew the other person, (e.g., my fiancee doesnt like spelling out I Love You his every waking minute), then yes, saying it all the time might kinda “cheapen” it as ashtray mentions. I know he loves me even though he doesnt say all the time, because his words and actions portray that. On the other hand, if a friend was just nice and caring towards me, and i mistakenly take that as that they love me, i would be in an extremely embarassing situation.

I think if i were to tell that to someone, i would perhaps just let them know i deeply care for them. There are no ifs and buts around it.
