wondering. everybody on the forum tries to act good, say good, give the perfect response. (well … almost always)
but how honest, and true to your words are you really? do you really mean what you say online? do you really behave similar in real life, or are you only trying to put up an acceptable persona?
i have to accept that sometimes i say the correct thing as opposed to what i do. i know what’s right and wrong, but i admit that i dont always do the right thing, and i do the wrong thing pretty consciously, so not like the lectures would do any good, it only require a will power at my end, which tends to be not so strong always. but it feels like online people always do the right thing, because if you say the wrong thing, the rest just eat you up. especially in communities like GS as opposed to youtube where you sort of get to know each other. “ghaibana ta’aruff”
so in a way. GS is already pretty double darn political.
good topic. I think GS has become a lot more politically correct than it used to be. maybe politically correct is not the word.
and it is painfully obvious that ppl say things all the time that they don't mean or even if they mean them, they don't implement in their own lives. myself included. interestingly, this behavior is observed mostly in the Life forums...
I bet all GS posters also believe they're better than average drivers (or posters?).
samb, i dont think its about political correctness. There was intellectual frivolity here before. People were capble of mature banter/debate, albiet at times riske, but all in the name of high-posting.
Now, its full of a lower-denominator type. The wit is gone and people get crudely personal way too quickly when an opinion is disagreed with.
I am part of this this dumbed down herd, but I remain quite honest. Me thinketh.

i completely agree with this ... and because of this, it has sometimes stopped me from saying 100% of what i think and feel.
it's too personal, too soon. do we all need anger-management or ego-control classes?
hehe...that's one of the few reasons i don't post much. In the beginning I was quite active posting replies but after a few 'chitrols' in PA, WA n religion forum i just did nmot feel motivated enough to post.
Now, most of the time I'm too busy to come to GS...but if I do, I just read the blogs or read a few threads n leave.
But to tell you the truth...I give honest replies. If I feel I can't speak my mind, I just don't reply.
If I don't speak my mind whether it be online or real-life then I feel suffocated, mera dam ghut-ta hai..
If something annoys me I tell the other person, sometimes I loose it, other times I stay composed and get my point across in a more dignified manner.
sometimes i read something, and it completely rattles my brains ... llike wtf ... are you serious!!! when not in control, i react, when in control (which i think is not soo often, but still), i either ignore, or post nice things.

People do not like honesty here. Bunch of cry babies. Tell someone their eye make up looks awful and goodness me!
I think people forget this is the interweb and a lot worse can happen than not liking awful eye make up. :)
