LOL! I wouldn't say torturous but sitting straight in one position was indeed uncomfortable. On the other had, it was fun to have everyone trying to feed me everything because I couldn't feed myself. Also, had to take care to offer my prayers before I sat down for the application. I got it done the night before the wedding and slept afterwards so it was nice and dark in the morning. My MIL told me to let it fall naturally and not to wash it off as it was 'armanon ki mehndi' that shouldn't be washed off. :) Sme of it got washed as I had to do wazzu for Fajar but it still came out pretty dark.
My husband was a little put off because the mehndi did not have his name hidden in it but he really liked the whole lot. He also asked me to put on full bridal mehndi for other events that happened after our wedding and made sure that the artist hid his name every time. :) So, I have gone through the process many times and would still like to do it again.
Aww that is soo cute! :) gives me a good idea to offer all my prayers before the mehndi is put on :)
