That will give gingery taste to soup , it is not bad taste . Adding egg and not cook it will not be a good taste for desi taste buds.
Do an experiment with little soup which you can afford to throw if you do not like and if you like then try these tricks for bigger batch of soup.

But egg is usually added to Asian soups. You can’t really taste it.
