How To Talk To Uncles When You're An Abcd

**Since i’m pretty bad in Urdu and Punjabi I still try my best to communicate with my uncles when I see them. Sometimes I just stick to English but then I start sounding like Miles’ posts which is a suicidal. If I speak proper English i’ll probably come off as a cocky Amrikkan. When I speak in a foreign language I sound like Jose who just came to the states last week. What does an ABCD gotta do?:halo: **

Just try to speak in ur tooti pooti urdu/punjabi, and switch to english when you dont know how to say something, they'll appreciate the effort.

Re: How To Talk To Uncles When You're An Abcd

Just speak in the language that you feel comfortable with. They should understand, and not judge you.

Re: How To Talk To Uncles When You're An Abcd

An ABCD gotta start from ABCD & finish at "Z". In simple words, it would be appropriate to learn ur parental language, its always better to have an extra language as a skill.

Re: How To Talk To Uncles When You’re An Abcd

If someone initiate convorsation in english with ABCD then they whine the cheapster/paindo is trying to impress them with his/her broken english

And if you talk with them in urdu then half of it goes above their head :stuck_out_tongue:

I started talking in a little urdu with my parents since the past year or 2 and now I've gotten better. I felt kinda silly doing it at first but then I got kinda used to it. :)

Re: How To Talk To Uncles When You’re An Abcd

it was this very bad habit of mine that whenever we sisters fought we used to shout and scream only in english :hehe: my parents took serious notice of this and told us to speak urdu

but then again at school when anything went wrong all i could utter was a few words in english .. i was humane :halo:

i think english is a decent language . yet it is cultured that after the harsh words you can say sorry
