I was recently told by a friend that I need to learn to take a compliment…
How do you do that with class and dignity?

Re: How to take compliments?
be like i knowwww with a smirk
Re: How to take compliments?
I read this in alot of womens' articles and magazines taht women always 'downplay' the compliments they get by negating it with a "putdown"...for example:
"oh you look so fabulous!"
"nooo i dont I look horrible , my (comment about fat/hair/skin/whatever).
Just say thank you, and if u find something to compliment them (not a fake one) then do so :)
Re: How to take compliments?
Say thank you and always return it. :)
Re: How to take compliments?
I do exactly what Reha has said.
Re: How to take compliments?
If i got a compliment i would always say 'no no your better' Or something like that and i generally thought it was nice to say that. I was being serious. But now i've just learnt to say Aww thank you.
Re: How to take compliments?
i juss say thankyou..:)
I just say thnks and if a compliment makes me uncomfortable, in order to hide that and make situation more comfy i say ( i always look good or everything always looks good on me) makes situation more funnny rather than a serious one hehe..
My dad always says just to say 'thankyou' but I feel a bit stupid saying that so usually I just say 'yeah, right' lol
Don't be shy, be confident, smile and say thank you!
Re: How to take compliments?
Ask them, Ok, what do you need? lol

Thats exactly what i end up saying and then I feel awkward n stupid.
I wonder if you just say thankyou....wont that mean that you agree with the compliment and the other person would get the idea that you are full of yourself...?

i guess it'd show that u appreciate and respect other peoples opinions?
negating it may also show u're somewhat puffy?
