How to say...

I’m looking for introductory phrases in Urdu, phrases or words that introduce the main body of a sentence, such as:

Due to the fact that
or
Considering that
or
Therefore

and other such expressions.

Re: How to say...

choon ke

chuna ke

agarche

magarche

Chuna ke or chuna chay :hmmm:

Re: How to say...

Can you show me in the sample sentence below how each changes the meaning of the sentence?

Chun keh mujhe bhuk lag rahi thi, main ne rotiyan khaii.

Chunache mujhe bhuk lag rahi thi, main ne rotiyan khaii.

Agarche mujhe bhuk lag rahi thi, main ne rotiyan khaii.

Magarche mujhe bhuk lag rahi thi, main ne rotiyan khaii.

Re: How to say...

Only first one is right in given context. Choon ke = As (I was hungry)

For Chunache = therefore.

Agarche = Although

Magarche is not used. Its just double word agarche magarche.... Magar = But

Re: How to say...

Are you sure you are not discussing Sindhi here?

Re: How to say...

Not here :)

Mujhay bhook lagi hai, iss lieay main ne roti kha li

To me that makes more sense.. that's something we do say on regular basis as opposed to choon ke

Re: How to say...

right. Iss lie, is more common.

These words are becoming obsolete... because, we have started using.. thats why.... because... but.... in between Urdu sentences

Re: How to say...

^Becoming obsolete in speech or writing? Or both. I see them in writing all the time still.

Re: How to say…

or gujarati. agarche magarche? :hayaa:

Re: How to say...

Re: How to say...

Re: How to say…
