So I’m guessing you already have CWM installed. You can make a a nandroid backup using CWM, which is an image of the phone in time. You can always revert back to that using CWM.

Odin is a flashing utility for Samsung phones. I found a page with direction on how to root that phone and flash the phone with boot.img. They also have links to the flashing utility as well. Here it is:

Have you ever done this before? Do you have any brothers, cousins, husbands/boyfriends that know what all this is? I’ve been stuck with dead phones which I had to spend sleep nights over, and bring them back to life.

I have CWM installed on my phone…also i had rooted my phone:)

Then I think you should make a nandroid backup and flash away. You can always come back into CWM recovery and restore your saved ICS.

All of this is going over my head.

I think the solution is for Tofi to open a thread on how to root S3 and that would also explain all these terms. What do you think Tofi?
