How to remove ghosht smell while cooking keema

Re: How to remove ghosht smell while cooking keema

I always drain the water out after boiling the keema.. I boil it to get rid of the fat and meaty smell so it doesn't make sense to use the same water to cook it in also.
After it's boiled, drain it, saute some onions in a seperate pot and add keema along with whichever spices you want to use.

Shay,

Thanks so much for clarifying the draining bit. I was talking to a friend and she told me to soak the meat/qeema in water and vinegar for 10-15 mins...I did that and then your thing and alhamdulillah all good ... :)

on the same note , guys you know for shami kabab , when we boil the keema with chana daal... what do we do to get rid of the meaty smell?

or should we do the same , soak it with a bit of vinegar and then boil it with daal?
