How to Properly Contour the Nose?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the proper way to contour the nose is? I’ve seen some girls/celebrities who contour their nose with a bronzer and it looks soo bad, the nose looks darker than the rest of the face, i’m pretty sure this is not the right way,

also is contouring the nose only done on big/wide noses?

Contouring can be done on any nose to give it shape and definition.

You can use bronzer to give the illusion of angles and create sharpness. Bronzer is better BUT make sure its not the glittering kind because that will actually reflect light and completely ruin the effect.

The trick is blending and sculpting your nose. It takes practice.

Depends on the type of nose too.. different ways of contouring for each 'type'.

instead of a bronzer u ca also use a dark shade powder...

I read somewhere a makeup artist uses foundation powder three times darker shade than the color you use, and this is a great technique to sculpt the face, as matte bronzers don't really exist, all bronzers have glitter in them.

the video's really helpful, but i wish he actually showed the blending for at least one.

and he has a pretty good nose himself, so that doesn't really help

Use a highlighter or white/bone colored eyeshadow on the bridge of u're nose. Use a darker eyeshadow on the 'crooked' area, the highlighted area will make u're nose appear straighter.

**Nose contouring can be done on any kind of nose to give it more definiton.

In fact you don't need to use a contouring powder or bronzer if you don't have one you can select an eyeshadow or a concealer that is a few tones darker than your colour. .........

Basically you need to know what is it that you want to "Correct". Contouring is basically creating an ïllusion to give definiton and highlight your good features and underplay those that you want to.

So just like Cheek contouring with nose contouring you want to underplay the parts that you don't like and highlight the bit that you do.

So like say you have a big nose , you wanna use the bronzer/contouring powder on the sides starting from the bridge of the nose , along the sides and also on your filtrum while a thin line down the bridge of the nose of a highlighter.....so you end up with a nose that gives an illusion of being narrower.

Similarly with a narrow nose you do the opposite ,use a lighter shade on the sides and darker down the bridge of the nose

With a Long nose , you just brush the bronzer onto the tip and between and around nostrils only**
