How to make Pakistan's Judicial Branch stronger?

The legislative branch is always trying to get a hold on government and the minute they do they want to hang on to it for ever. While its a problem on its own but it seems like the judicial branch, from the very beginning has been a total basket case.

Any ideas? Any of the political parties or even the generals have any ideas on how to fix it?

Why would you want to make judicial branch stronger? Anyone who wants to save his chaddi (that would make a "majority") would want judicial branch to be weak and under his control.

Stop politicizing it I suppose. The generals and politicians all impinge on the courts for their own gains, so non of them have any incentive to improve the system...

Re: How to make Pakistan's Judicial Branch stronger?

The problem is that almost at all levels, the justices are appointed by the President and the only safe guard in the constitution is 'consultation', which means the President only needs to consult with Chief Justice, who he appoints as well, when appointing other judges. Once elected there is no way to get them down unless they become 65.

It becomes more twisted when the President himself is not directly elected, well unless its a referendum elected General who would appoint anyone who would justify his rule.
