Hi, i have some problem with kids, not mine, one of my sister is blessed with a boy (now aging 1-1/2 year) and one is blessed with a girl (now aging 1 year). Both sisters live nearby so all day the kids with their moms are with us since the very start (when kids got born) I am their favorite khala . At times when they get bit frustrated by their parents or get upset or ill, they would come to me and would stop crying, I am always working on computer, usually show them animal videos on youtube and they really like it especially dog videos. They cant speak. They started saying Bow Wow for dogs and come to me saying this (bow Wow) requesting me to play the video. After that they just developed a habit of saying BOw Wow whenever they see a dog or computer, and the problem is that whenever they see me anywhere anytime they start saying BOw Wow:vivo:, at first i found it funny:smack2:, but now they have developed this habit, if they see PC they say Bow Wow and whenever they see me they just go on Bow Wow nonstop, its like they have learn to bark:smack:.
They do say other words like mama, baba, mum mum, mamu, but the time i am around i only hear them Bow Wow, thought they will change by getting little sense in them with time, but it seems like it has become a habit of them, the time i am with them in market or in some family gathering everyone point this out and my brother in laws also get bit irritated from this. I have shown them other videos of laughing babies, lion, cartoons, cats, as well but they are too much fixated on Bow Wow.
I was thinking if there is any way to fix this up, i know they are too little and have not much understanding of what they do but i kind of fear that this is becoming a strong habit of them.
LOL that was funny. maybe you could point out something else to them? or say khala to them by pointing to yourself. they've come to associate the pc and you to bow wow :P o or you can make a video of yourself saying khala to them and show it to the kids and then they might change their habit?
^^ believe me i have tried everything by now, i even avoid showing them any animal pic or video, they dont seem to forget Bow Wow, i even tried to stay away from them, for a week so they forget that but no sir, BOw Wow stays in their minds they do try to say khala but then Bow Wow Bow Wow Bow Wow Bow Wow Bow Wow Bow Wow
I have a 2 yr old and the way it works is you keep on telling them to call u khala by pointing at yourself or talking like “khala will do this, khala will show u that…” Just keep on reinforcing and soon they’ll forget. Show kids pics of yourself and say “this is khala” tell other household members to call you khala. Also point at yourself in the mirror and refer to yourself as khala
^^ i dont know about them but surely i will be brain washed, only thing i will remember is Khala khala khala, but its better than Bow Wow, will try to give it a try thanks for ur advise
come on, what you guys do when ur child (especially toddler) do something wrong like get a bad habit, there must be something that make kids realize not to do that without beating them up
its not a bad habit, first of all, so relax. they're kids and they've learned a new word, and they associate you with showing them videos of dogs, obvs, and its a good memory for them so they're doing it to remind you and remember themselves. they'll grow out of it, take it easy. in fact, enjoy this time, because when they do grow out of it, they do it so fast, baad mein you'll just have memories of how cute they used to be and how they'd say bow wow.
^ O i c, u made worry free, i was so much worried. I think they also get happy when they see everyone around them is laughing on them when they say bow wow
Lol yeah toddlers do some funny stuff, my kid calls goat boat thanks to all the bakras around him. Now with eid over he misses them and their baa baas and today mistook the sound of a lawn mower for a goats voice and kept on saying "boat bahahaha "
