Re: how to make khoya!!

Take ricota cheese, flat it down in a baking tray and bake it till all the water has evaporated. If you have a toster oven then just lay it on toster oven tray and bake it at 300-400 for 10-15 mins or till the water has evaporated. If you don't want to use oven then just flatten it in a prying pan and cook untill water is evaporated. keep stiring it.

Re: how to make khoya!!

so what you are saying is “untill water has evaporated”

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Re: how to make khoya!!

forget it .....now i don't need to know how to make it .....coz now i m done my gajar ka halwa is ready, and believe me its taste is same like professionals taste, but after i done i took 2 advils coz my right hand was hurting so bad bhoon bhoon kar bura hal ho gaya .....

Re: how to make khoya!!

lol… i just wrote three different ways

1.. in oven
2.. in oven toster
3.. on the stove

You just have to bake or cook till the water/liquid in the ricotta cheese has evaporated.

By the way, please don’t pick on my grammar. Mucho gracias!

Re: how to make khoya!!

I dont think its ricotta cheese.

The way one of my elder cousins made it once was by just continuously stirring full cream milk on medium to high aanch till all the water evaporated. Makes it really gaarha and dense in the end and tastes awesome.

Re: how to make khoya!!

Yes Kaka is on the right track here : What lusi is talking about is paneer.

Re: how to make khoya!!

No i am not talking about paneer. I am talking about khiya and we always make it like this for gajar ka halwa and zarda. It always comes outreally good. You should try and see.
