How to make HIM happy?

How to make Allah happy?

If I say my prayers regularly, I do it for myself right?

If I pay Zakat money on time, its for my own good right?

If I cannot deliberately do bad with anyone, and doing good is what is instilled in me may be coz our parents brought us up this way, its again for my own good in aakhirat correct?

When I am at work, I try to be fair with all ppl around me regardless of their nationalities and religions. Thats again good for my own repute at the work place.

I help out my family, parents and siblings, financially. But I see it as my responsibility as a daughter to take care of my old parents and as a sister be helpful to youngsters.

When I pray, its always about myself , my wishes, my family , my friends and at the most about all muslims.

From sometime, I am feeling that my whole life is about me and mine. Where am I doing anything to make Him happy? :frowning:

Is this what is expected from us that we work, get paid, do not do bad with anyone, pray , fast and sit at home watch tv?

I want to know, is there anything, any zikar, any specific act, that I should do regularly and which will be ONLY for HIS happiness? Something that will earn me HIS happiness, favors and blessings not coz I did something good with another person, or told truth when I could save myself by lying, but i am looking for something i say or do coz He loves it. There is no other human or any other creation involved but something that is only between me and HIM. Right now I feel i am only doing my duties. Duties are mere duites and i ll be rewarded for them in aakhirah if i have carried them out in a proper way. just like exams, scored 80/100, go you are pass. enter the janaat. Is that all expected from us?

I have heard that best zikar is Allah ka zikar. How do we do that exactly?

Am I able to convey my point? :frowning:

Re: How to make HIM happy?

What I try to do is after I pray, I do my usual duas asking for good health for my family etc etc, then I try to spend 5-10 in contemplation. I just think about God, how happy I am to be Muslim, how all I want to do is be a humble slave, the only reason my life has meaning is because I can live to worship him. Just let your mind wander, it will take time but after a while zikar will be like a natural reflex, you will find yourself sitting in traffic appreciating the trees, flowers and all of Gods creations.

Re: How to make HIM happy?

I quote a renowned Darwesh

It is my calculated guess that Allah will be happy if we try to make people around us happy/ address their problem and try to reduce them.

Just one precaution :

DO NOT MAKE PEOPLE DEPENDENT ON YOU FOR LONG RUN.

Do it for short period, devise a strategy and make them stand on their foot ASAP. Otherwise stay aloof. It is a nature of some people that they become parasite or virus. Stay away from them as much as possible.

They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, “Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.”
