Could you guys please recommend the appropriate way to make a dua in a small gathering, for example, after a lecture in a kids school. Please write it out. Thank you.

Generally, the sequence is as follows:
First, recite darood sharif and request everyone to recite it.
Then, praise Allah (Swt) by calling HIM by HIS names. Ya Rahman! Ya Rahim!..... You are the Mightiest of All! ........Their is no limit to your Your Rahmah....... You know everything is our heart........ You are the most merciful......... Nothing in the universe is beyond your control........ Your power is the greatest of All....... We don't have enough words to thank YOU, to praise YOU for everything you blessed us with...........................
Then seeking forgiveness for our sins in general (without mentioning any specific sin). Seeking forgiveness for our parents, our relatives, friends, school staff, for those who have left us.....etc.
Then pleading Allah (swt) to bless all the people in the world...... To give shifa to those who are ill, to bless with hidayah who have gone astray....... To fulfil the need of those who are suffering, from HIS infinite treasures......To unite the ummah...to bless us with the wisdom and strength to serve humanity, to have love in our hearts for everyone, to encourage good and discourage bad, to be obedient to our parents and teachers.........

Then mentioning about the blessings of this life and the hereafter. Guide us to the right path. Bless us with Imaan and "Aafiyat". Bless us all with Khatma with Imaan, to protect us from "shar" of Shaitaan and nafs, to protect us from the pain of death, from the thirst of the day of judgement, the difficulties of Pul siraat, and to bless us all with jannah without accountabilty and punishments......etc.
There are different duas for ending a dua. If one doesn't remember those, then one may recite darood again, as the dua that start and end with darood and has Allah's praise in between is never rejected.
It is just randomly what I remember. Would inshaAllah try to share more if I recall anything. Allah (swt) knows Best!

Make dua as if you are talking to God
In Dua completely submit to God
In Dua, open yourself to God
God, listens to everything
God is all-hearing
God is the king, the master, the protector
The care-taker, the provider, the helper
God is most kind, most compassionate
There is no real power in the world
But the power of God.
God has power over all things
The power that humans possess is a gift of God
Pray in complete submission
Pray from the depth of your heart
Pray for everything in your mind
Pray morning evening and night
pray with all your might
Dua is the best form of worship
Dua is the essence of worship
Dua is the sunnat of all pious people
Dua is the weapon of the righteous
Dua is the pillar of faith
Dua is the bond between the creator and the creation
And Dont be shy
In Dua, you can cry

This is a beautiful dua. So very complete mashallah. At all our public school/college/uni gatherings we have definitely added this dua as well. Whether just in words, or spoken by a student while others listen.
Give it a listen, perhaps you can take ideas. Possibly translate it to english as well for those who cant understand urdu.
