so my turmoils with mil etc continue, i think fil is urning against me too, not obviously, but hes not as nice as behavious theres def a change.
its annoying when i have my own money, that mil will advise me how to spend it. we are refurbishing our lounge and dining area and shes gone and done it all herself, consulted her daughter who doesnt live there and chosen all the curtains and etc herself. not asked me once. ok, fair enuff, but i decided i wanted to change my curtains in my room ages ago, because they were really old and didnt match. so mil decided to tell me what to get and what colour and makes a face when i disagree. she interefers in everything, from what bedsheets i shoulf by, to why im buying this or that. too much chang-chang from her is giving me a migraine seeing as i cant retaliate in the way i would like to. so how to make a stand. i wish i could ignore her, im trying but its difficult with a capital D. i cant bardaash her anymore, how on earth do i explian to anhyone how i feel.
I think ur in-laws have done masters on you , they know how exactly how to boil your blood without doing much. In our childhood we were told not to pay any attention, not to give any importance and not even think about such classmates whom irritate us, dont be touchy about things, do you best to stay happy and clam. God has given us two ears you can use one to listen to her and other to throw all of it out . Just take it all in a fun way :shoaby:
Why do you even want to spend money at something you won't even be using in a few months? Not that you're gonna be staying here for all your life. Try to live with the curtains for just a few more months. And then you can fly away leaving the curtains behind. I know it can be very hard but dil pe pathar rakh kay karwa ghoont pi lo nadz :(
You can’t even take a stand against the kaamwali in that house and you want advice on how to take a stand againt your MIL?!
I hate saying this once again Nadz but technically…you do live in your MILs house. And she has made it crystal clear to you that she doesn’t like you. So it shouldn’t come as a surpise to you that she doesn’t care about what you think about what she buys for HER house, and tries to tell you what you should buy for it too.
How about you not buy anything for your MIL’s house since you’re moving to the UK in a few months? How about you save all your money so you can set up YOUR house when you move to the UK?

.... and if you wanna protest... take off the curtains, get them washed or watever and set them aside.. and use bedsheets or newspappers to cover the windows for next few months.....
....dont forget to put her curtains back before you leave..
Yeah I don't get why you care. If you're gonna leave in 4 months why would you care about any decor or anything? Just leave it alone and smile and nod at everything she does. Kill her with kindness.
Its just curtains. Many a times my parents have different opinion about buying furniture, interior design things than me, but i respect them and do as they wish, thats the least i could do.
Plus u are leaving and ur MIL is staying in that house, she should decide what to do with that room and how to furnish it.
If you are leaving in few months then i guess there shouldnt be any point in decorating and creating more peoblems complexity in your already conplicated relationship with your MIL. Forget it girl. Stay blessed and try not to think much about these issues
