Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
If u use ground beans, use hot NOT boiling water, allow it to infuse for sometime.
If u use instant coffee granules, heres the secret:
A teaspoon granules in the mug. Add just a cm level of water to it. Add a dash of milk and stir. Then top up with hot water from the kettle and stir. Then add your sugar afterwards.
Don't know why, but this makes the best coffee. I've made it like this sometimes for colleagues and friends, and they always comment they don't know why it is but it tastes really nice.

Coffee whitener (coffeemate) is good too.

Many Many Thanks RupayHalwa
Yes, I use instant coffee granules. So I shall not use boiling water with it either?
I usually make it like.. add coffee to mug, little water and sugar.. then blend it.. then add hot milk ( mixed with 1/3 water) to it.. but I don't like the way I make it..
Also, do you think blending makes a difference? I mean how much you blend it?
Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
I usually wait a few seconds after the kettle's boiled for instant coffee, probably doesnt make any diff but thats just my habit. Don't really know what u mean about blending. If u don't like your coffee, adjust the milk / coffee/ sugar / water ratio to suit your taste!
Thanks a bunch RupayHalwa :)
I made it today keeping your tips in mind and it turned out to be quite well :) I used coffee mate.. hopefully it'd be better in next tries.
Thank you so much.. May Allah reward you His best Aameen
By blending i mean beating :s some people say it depends on how good u beat it.. not sure.. some do with fork, some with the electric beater.. hope i make u understand now?
Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
After you make the coffee, put a little bit of milk, hot coco mix, and a flavored creamer. You will have the best coffee ever!
Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
Blending coffee with hot water and sugar till it dissolves is a good idea. I like to boil milk (1/4 cup) and water (3/4 cup) in a saucepan and then pour it from a height onto the blended coffee so that it froths and then stir slightly. On the froth you can sprinkle chocolate powder for good effect.
(Milk when its boiled has a good taste but you may have more cleaning up to do)
Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
My relative makes her coffee in a patila, full milk, no water, adds coffee powder and sugar to it while its boiling, swirls it around and then pours from a height to get those cappacino bubbles. I dont like it like that, too milky, but im sure pakistanis will!
I put coffee granules (roasted coffee granules) canderal in my cup.. and then fill my cup with hot water 3/4 way up and top it off with half n half..or any dairy whitener
Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
oh sheesh man....go down to the nearest starbux and buy a couple of "large columbians". Add whole milk or cream, sugar to taste and blast off to the heavens.

That's said for cappuccino. Trick to make the best cappuccino is to beat the coffee, sugar and little bit of milk (if you're using powder milk, add a few drops of water). Beat it with fork or spoon until the froth expands to quarter of your cup. Then add boiling water. Keep the water pot slightly higher up in air while pouring. Sprinkle chocolate or cocoa powder over the froth. It tastes heavenly.
P.S: "You'll have to be careful with the quantities of sugar / coffee / milk to reach a perfect combination as per your liking. That you'll be able to figure after a few unsucessful attempts.

Re: How to make a good cup of coffee?
Particularly for instant coffee...add warm milk and dissolve the granules before you add the water...
I've heard that boiling water scalds the granules, thus altering the taste...making it more bitter...whereas adding the milk first protects them from being scalded...don't know how true this is...but I've certainly noticed it tastes far better when the milk is added first...

Mmmm sitting in Starbucks with a latte and a good book...one of my favourite pastimes :) *
