I read somewhere that if you face a difficult situation and you see yourself getting closer to Allah swt its azmaish if you instead are getting away from Allah swt its azaab.

Another reason: It’s not azaab but its a delusion from shaitan that Allah punishing you and He don’t like you anymore to astray from the right path.
