im really bad at ironing. iv got it easy here where we hav someone to do iroing for us, but once back in uk il need to know myself. i cant iron shirts, i leave creases everywhere.
any tips?

Start from the bottom and work your way to the top.
Flatten out the creases and wrinkles with your hands before you go over it with the iron.
Dont leave a hot iron in one place for too long.

Loved the link. Hanging the shirt properly after washing(if air drying), helps a lot when ironing later.

make sure all buttons are open first press at back side from bottom to up , front side is partitioned, iron one side then other,then iron sleeves, then the cuff are. if they are folding one, fold them first then iron else iron them, while ironing sleeve make sure you are not making more than 1 cresse, in the end iron collar from back first thn front

I keep the shirt buttoned up, first I do the collar, then the back and front of each arm. I lay the shirt down on the ironing board and iron the back- from the bottom to the top. Then I turn the shirt around and do the bottom to the top. Always hang shirts as soon as they are freshly ironed.
I was very spoilt by mum and only learnt to iron after getting married, buying a good quality ironing board and a nice steam iron have really helped, as well as lots and lots of practice!

a guy’s shirt? its not that hard. most of us fobs have been ironing shirts from when we were 12. but you should just have the hubbyji buy the non-iron shirts. saves time when you have two toddlers, parents, in laws, kaamwalis etc.

anyone heard about putting burning red hot coal in “Lota” to iron the shirt?
Getting the creases out fully is done best when u sprinkle water on the shirt before ironing. Like with a spray bottle. Most irons come with a steam/spray function however, but yeah. Use less heat on delicate cloths, loads of heat on stuff like cotton etc.
