My daughters love protein. They like finger foods like tikka botis, seekh kababs, fried chicken, boneless chicken pieces, cheese...

Can you tell me how to get them to eat more carbs? They do eat their pastas, roti, paratha...but less than they should.

Fish cakes have a lot of proteins as well as carbs! Children love finger food as Niksik said.. I don't know how old they are but chicken ala kiev is great, stuff it with herbed butter or cheese (protein). Nuggets.. cocktail kababs? Fish fingers?

My 4 year old will eat chicken, nihari meat, keema (sometimes) and egg.

My 2 year old loves paratha, roti, bread, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, cookies, apples, banana. potatoes - and refuses to eat protein. If I put a chicken in her mouth. She spits it out. Anything protein - she just takes it out of her mouth and puts it on the side.

The only protein she will eat in the day is half her omelate.

I don't think she like the texture (reesha) - should I mash it up?

As a guideline, the standard method used by nutritionists to estimate our minimum daily protein requirement is to multiply the body weight in kilograms by .8, or weight in pounds by .37

Steak (beef) is extremely high in protein. 42 grams in a 6-ounce steak. 4 ounces of chop meat has 28. You can puree beef by adding gravy and then top some mashed potatoes with it. Perhaps she will find the texture more palatable that way. Chicken is actually high in protein too.
