you do not get to reinforce negative stereotypes in our society that make it hard for other kids to feel good about themselves and expect others to do “wah wah! kya teer mara hai! mashallah…kya zahanat dikhai hai!”
wishing to have a fair kid because in some paindu societies being fair fair eeees bootiful and being kaali is not so bootiful - yeah you’re asking for it. kids grow up KNOWING their parents find them beautiful or not. they KNOW and FEEL the pressure to be a certain way. you don’t need to go through labor to know this much. i grew up around girls who used fair and lovely by the tubes so they could feel prettier.
no, its not to each their and own and foolish to think that. if she posted she’s buying her daughter bees tolay ka sona so her in-laws can respect her, i’d think she’d get the same reaction.
