How to have a fast labour?

very good thread cos women are always asking how to have a fast painfree labour.

my first child came in 30 mins and the head came out in one push! my second child came in 20 mins and my 3rd came in 10 mins.

my labours were super fast and i was laughing through each them. the pains felt like very strong period pains and cramps. i was very lucky though as i never experienced the normal pregnancy pains.

i started exercising months before each pregnancy preparing my body. i used to walk about an hour every single day throughout pregnancy. i did all the housework myself and i never sat down for a break. always keeping myself active as i knew this was the secret to a fast labour. i was gardening, cooking, hovering etc.

as a doctor this is the best advice i can give. walk walk and walk.

my labours were so fast that i had all my babies at home in my bedroom because i never had time to go to hospital. when my 2nd baby was coming i knew i would give birth at home as i could feel baby pushing down and coming out. i started to put lots of towels on the bed and my husband was telling me to go to hospital and pulling me and i was laughing through contractions saying we don't have time! hehehehe

walk one hour every day.

Re: How to have a fast labour?

From my experience people, having a child is one of the most natural things. Our bodies are made to adjust and tolerate what we have to go through. So I say just let it be, let it come naturally and during your roughest moments, just read the 4 Quls in your head and Surah Fatiha and keep reminding yourself that millions of women have gone through this, are going through this and will go through this so I can too. InshaAllah it will be over sooner than you think because when you hold that precious baby in your hand, nothing else will matter.

Re: How to have a fast labour?

i remember hearing about maryam kay phool in KSA a very long time ago. i dont know if it works or not.

Re: How to have a fast labour?

i hv never heard about maryam ka phool. where is that tree then that it comes from? so you just dip this flower in water and it helps with the pains?

What? Wow? Lol!

You have been the very luckiest woman for sure! Hehe! Incredible! Marshallah, you are so fortunate that you had such fast labours.

Thank you for sharing your experience! :)

Niksik - so true. :k:

Embarrassingly enough I don't exactly know where the tree is. What is the present birth country of Hazrat Issa? I do know that you can the flowers from Saudi Arabia. Yes you leave them in water & it helps with the pain & fast labor.

walk walk walk

Re: How to have a fast labour?

walking is good advice, coz it has been shown to help decrease complications of labour but, it by no means give you a "fast" labour.

Didn't you say you had twins?
Also, how can you have contractions for 10 minutes and then bam, baby's out.

Re: How to have a fast labour?

Look nothing against Housewife, I bet she is an amazing lady but I have near heard of such a fast birth. I have seen many births on TV (there is a programe here) and read so many birth stories and never heard of birth being in 30 minutes and also painfree.

As about being active I was very active with my first and last birth, till the end I was working at home, cleaning my place so that I come back to a clean home and cooking gajar ka halva and I allways used to do my own work, no servents and still I had labour for 4 days! Does it mean that I should have walked more? I dont think we should over do it especially the last few days.

I just found this interesting website where other women have been sharing their labour experiences at the bottom of the page.

Having a Fast Labor: Learn More about Precipitous Labors and How to Manage them

I don’t get it. Some are having their babies in 33 minutes, 35 minutes, 52 minutes, another 45 mins with no contractions, another 1.5 hours only etc.

Sure are very lucky women! But there must be some secret to having a fast labour - or is it just luck at the end of the day?

Wow four days! When did your water break in this time?

Yeah 4 days! the beginning wasnt very painful but it got stronger but not enough to dilate me, so I was dilating 1 cm in a day!

I did go to the hospital they sent me home as it not time yet, so for 2 days I stayed at home and did the best I could. The next 2 days I stayed at the hospital, they didnt do anything to speed it up, till I started vomiting.

When they broke the water I don't really know! I think they didn't till the end, by then I had a PDA and didn't feel anything, so don't know when they did, all I know my daugther was very clean as she was born like she has just taken a bad in warm water! :)

This time I am not leaving it to fate, I will do a birth course and learn the right breating techniques and will also try to do exercise .. maybe then I can learn the secret of a fast labour.
