so I got Matrix Opti-Smooth heat permanent hair straightening yesterday…I am happy with the results!
My hair were very wavy and frizzy but now they are silky smooth and straight… the only thing is they look so flat at my head which kind of makes my face too obvious( i have a big round face).
the stylist told me not to wash my hair for 7 days… everywhere i read only it says its 3 days for no wet rule… i guess she jus twants to make sure they dont go back to their original shape? there is no way i can stand not washign my hair for 7 days… i might give it 4 days but thats it!
So how do i get some volume near my head, its not very appealing looking right now… some one just told me that my hair look nice but they make me look “mature”
any ideas? tips?
Thanks,
Re: how to get volume in hair after permanenet straightening....
There is no way if you're leaving it to dry naturally (which usually you do since otherwise you kinda defeat the purpose of having it straightened permanantely) but what I do in the early days post straightening is tip my head upside down and blast the roots dry for a couple of minutes and leave the rest to dry naturally which gives enough volume.
From experience - have had mine straightened several times over the years - after 3 or 4 weeks it looks perfect since the roots have grown enough to create some volume so it shouldn't be something you have to worry about for very long.
Btw, not washing your hair for 7 days? Have never had to leave it that long, I've always been told 48 hours and even that's far too long for me. But then again, I always have Yuko so perhaps it differs between treatments?

Thanks BritChick for the tip.... yeah tehy look good from the back and side its just the front ont top of my forehead thats looking flat to me...lol
Well for opti-smooth its 48-72 hours anywhere i read online, but i did read that some peopel leave it for a week to have it really settle down.... i dont think i want that... I will give it atmost 72 hours if i can, i usually have to wash my hair everyday, cant stand even 72 hours....
and I have family weddign in 4 weeks and I am really hoping they would have some volume by then.....
were you able to make any updos and other styles with ur hair afters straightening?
Leave the rest of u're hair the way it is..and use a "lifting spray" just on the roots of the top part of u're hair.. bend that section of hair downwards are dry this shud give u the "bounce" u need.. without overdoing it!
Re: how to get volume in hair after permanenet straightening....
i am thinking of getting permanent straightening done. any pros/cons you can suggest?
(i have thicky wavy hair and its on the long side now, so using a flat-iron is extremely time consuming, not too mention very damaging, since to get a nice finish, i need to have the iron set to 375 at least)
Bride2be perm straightning is actually very harmful..it contains so many chemicals u have NO idea! It can even lead to massive amounts of hair loss..I made that mistake right before the Lux Style Awards so just trust me on this! Stick to u're ceramic straightner if u must.. atleast that dries-out u're hair shaft and u can use a deep conditioner to keep u're hair healthy.. perm straightning damages hair from the root..and u'd have to wait decades for it to grow-out!
