After putting on globs of vaseline on my lips (my lips are very dry), I decided to go and try on a couple of shalwar kameezes to see which one I should wear to a wedding. And without realizing, my lips skimmed the cloth and this oily stain showed up on the stomach area of the shirt!! Any ideas on how to get it out? The cloth seems delicate so I don’t want to throw it in the washer. And it is in an area which can’t really be covered up…
realize that vaseline is petroleum based but very light so it does break down in water, concentrated cleaner could work, some alcohol could break it up etc.
at times like these I always ask, what is my experiment fails. and usually the right answer then is to let drycleaners handle it.
I dont know what would work on the stains but just to caution you agianst the dry cleaners. They ruined some of my kaam walay kapray where the beads etc came loose and teh whole look was ruined.
does the talcum powder thing work on oil?
i got some haleem on a sari (in my defence it was not my fault) and i washed it out but there is still an oil stain
its a pale pink sari so it sticks out a lot, would be great if i could remove it completely
