To get loose curls like this, i normally curl my hair before i go to sleep (with my ghd straightners) and then tie it in a very loose low ponytail. That weighs down the hair striaghtening the top half and leaving the bottom half in loose curls. Spray some hairspray and youre ready to go :)

Can;t you just use a tong and don't do tight curls, like make sure the hair is tied around the tong loosely and not packed in. I do that, it works for me.

U can get that look really easily with a v.large-barreled tong.

just use a large barrel curling iron (i use 1 1/2 inches) and do spiral curls. then run your fingers through your hair to loosen them. voila! there u go!

desi girl you are from the US so you can find it easily at the mall. I just went to a freind's house and she had ginalli milano's black curling rod. OMG! its sooo much EASIER and better than the regular curling iron that frizzes your hair and your hair keeps getting stuck in the metal (atleast mine do)...I own a few of the metal curling irons...none are very expensive and useless but I can't imagine any metal curling iron (even chi) to work better than this ginalli ojne...try it out....she got it from a cart or something...usually those people let you try it on your hair...let me know if you like it

There are plenty of good waving tongs on the market too. I have one. It gives a much softer look than the normal curling tongs you get. Spritz with some Elnette hairspray.
I don't know if you get the Nicky Clarke brand in the US, but his waving tong is really good. So quick to use as well.
This can be easily done with a curling iron and mousse.. apply mousse to the ends of u're hair (when they're still damp) and curl the ends by twirling u're iron inwards from the ends upwards... hold it for a count of 15 and release. "set" it with a fixing spray..

Easy peasy. GHD’s. Your hair needs to be greasy though in order for the hair to stick together as curls. I usually staighten my hair, leave it unwashed for 2 days and then curl it with loose curls. You do need hair spray though and then wash it out at the end of the day.

P.s I have the thinner plated irons and its still fine. As my hair has lots of layers it creates different textures of curls.

LOL I have lots of layers in my hair, usually I sleep with damp hair (which I apply hair serum too) wake up in the morning an Vola!

Desigirl - my friend got it for $80...i KNOW i was surprised becuase online i found it for about $180....she told me to bargain with the cart sales person....I am not really a master of bargaining so i thought when i decide to get it...ill have her get it for me....but you are right appx. $180 is a lot for a curling iron

you are in luck coz ms. K is my neighbour's bff. and today i caught them while they were having a picnic on the front yard. so i took some samosay over and asked ms. K hey how you got hairs like dat gal? and she told me it is her head and shoulders shampoo+conditioner. shes very pretty in person btw.
