How to find WEP (encryption key)

I’ve Dell Inspiron 6000 and DSL. But in order to use wireless, I need to have WEP (encryption key). I can’t find it on the back of the laptop where a lot of other numbers and barcodes are. Is it called something else as well?.
Would you plz help me.

The wep encryption key comes from the router.

Thanks. I found it on the router.
I guess common sense is really not very common. I was trying to find it on the computer.

It won't be much of an encryption if its written on the back of the comptuer.
My suggestion would be to migrate over to WPA (mental note: change my home router to WPA as well).

I was actually trying to use wireless. I only attached it on my laptop. I really don't care for internet on my pc. Its wotking fine with the ethernet cable but, i still couldn't firgue how to use it without the cable.
And the funny thing is that I work in very computer related envirnoment.
