i remember eating a lot of churi when i was young. it was basically a roti broken into small pieces mixed with warm butter and sugar. Whenever we didnt want to eat anything, ammi would feed us this. I can remember the taste - so good. She used to do a similar thing with eggs. Break the toasted bread slices into small pieces with broken up pieces of anda fry (with the yolk) with salt and pepper. To this day, whenever I feel homesick, I would make myself some anda fry churi. So good!
She used to love banana when she was young but now she does't like it.. Actually she is a very moody toddler, she only eats if she is in good mood. She likes almonds...but i dont give her more then 4-5 pcs every other day.
She loves egg but she is allergic to it. She likes to eat qeema sammosa but she is also allergic to beaf. Inshallah i will try chicken samosa for her.
Ur chuuri idea is fabulous..Inshallah i will try it for dinner tonight.
There are other parents worried sick because their kids got fat and ugly because the unwise mothers fed them hot dogs and pizzas morning, day and night ! :)
I have been trying to “fatten” my little nephew up for the past month or so, but to no avail. He is a healthy kid mash’Allah (aside from being anemic), but it seems like he’s been losing a bit of weight in the last couple of weeks. He has lost his appetite, isn’t as active any more (doesn’t run around and make mischief like he used to, sigh :(), wants to be held all the time, and looks quite pale. His parents aren’t too bothered by the weight loss, but being the over-protective aunt, I can’t help but worry myself half to death. I want to get him checked out by his ped, but my brother and his wife think that I need to find other ways of dealing with my “boredom”. Oh, and to make matters worse, his parents decided to put him in Daycare so that he’d be all set for school! (Urrrrgh, he’s only 2!!! Am I the only one who thinks my brother and SIL are in dire need of parenting classes…!!!)
^add iron drops to his routine. it will increase his activity level n appetite. pale color, loss of appetite, lower activity all seem ike symptoms of low iron.but if it doesn't make improvement then get him chked.
let his parents make better decision and don't pressurize them much. lots of kids start schooling at 2 these days so its nothing strange.
Dear speak with ur bro, tell him that u feel that baby’s activity level is low nd u want to take him to ped. Get his weight nd height checked. Give him iron drops as Mabrook suggested.
My daughter is also not eating well, but i keep on trying after every 2 hours. ASk ur bhabi to keep trying with her son.
Don’t worry abt daycare center…its quite common. My daughter is 22 months nd Im planning to send her to daycare soon.
Thank you soo much for all your replies and tips, I really appreciate it. :) I will deffobe trying them. I need to start encouraging him to eat by himself as I always spoon feed hi
Due to the ease of it all, whilst I was pregnant. So that is what I will be trying now inshallah.
I was tempted to put butter in all his food, but now I agree that he should gain this weight in a healthy way rather than the unhealthy route although a little butter like paratha won't harm him. And ooohhh I remember churi too! Yum yum!! :)
Leave the little dude alone.
Rough him up a little... make his father play soccer with him..
He will develop need to take more proteins and stuff... hence grow a body which will be better then being fat.
