How to enjoy this holy month the most: Next level

by Noor Syed. (unfortunately I m not that gifted  )

In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind
A blessed month is casting its shadow upon us
A night of this month is better than a thousand months
Bear with patience for the sake of Ar-Rahman
It’s a continuous training to strengthen our Imaan.
Glory be to Allah who sent Ramadan as a mercy to mankind
Its a purification of our soul, our heart, and our mind
With the most sincere devotion and love we fast
To be cleansed and free from sins of the past
Glorified is He, who choseth this holy month,
To test our sabr and fill our hearts with warmth
Of his Divine Light, His blessings shall glow,
The Seer of the unseen, all He does know
Ya Allah! For thee, let my breath be more pleasant than musk
Ya Allah! For thee, let me be thankful when day turns to dusk
My thoughts and heart are purified, my eyes truly see’
This blessed month, the month of spiritual rhapsody!
Ya Allah! For thee, my life I shall live!
Ya Allah! For thee, my soul I shall give!
In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind,
Praise be to Allah, who sent Ramadan as a gift to mankind

How to enjoy this holy month, this gift of Allah the most. Many of us pray and fast and give zakaat. But why dont we try to take it to the next level? It is hard to explain what I mean by the next level but I ll try. Its a feeling of spiritual explosion, a deeper spiritual’s eufory. As if one is in a state of levitation. Internal happiness which radiates to everybody around you. People notice that there is something different about you.
Anyhow, more advice or tip is welcome. Just post here or send me a pm and I will add it to the starting post.

(1) Reduce TV watching and prepare the family for the new spirit of Ramadan. Engage with your family more and more in creative activities that remind them and yourself of Ramadan

(2) Share food with as many people as you can. Muslims and non muslims.
(The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: ā€œHe is not a believer who eats his fill while his neighbor remains hungry by his side.ā€ (Baihaqi) )

(3)Try not to eat to till you drop  Unfortunately we (especially desis) overdo it during this blessed month. Keep in mind that you dont exist for food, but food exists for you!

(4) Try to find more knowledge. Start by searching translations of dua’s you have to repeat everyday, like for Sehri and Iftaar. I know for a fact that not many people know what it means even though they use it daily. Somehow its more fun when you know what you are saying everyday

(5) This is a difficult one. Remember everyday that this could be your last ramadan. In this month the gates of hell are locked and the gates of heaven will be open. This is THE month to ask for forgiveness. If not then when will you ask for forgiveness? Repent before its too late.

More to come InshaAllah
