hi guys i’m almost 38weeks pregnant Alhumdulillah n i want to ask is resting all day is good for me or walk?
i talked on fone with my MIL yesterday she said that dont sit or rest for long time…on the other hand my cousin was sayin that take bedrest and dont do anything so m a bit confused…so what is best for an easy labor?
P.S i’m first time pregnant…
Re: how to ease labor?
i think you should walk....
Re: how to ease labor?
^for how long?
Re: how to ease labor?
don't rest, you preggers not ill.
walk as much as possible, if feet swell, then rest them but keep active..
Re: how to ease labor?
^ that.
Re: how to ease labor?
stay active unless for some reason doctor has recommended bedrest....like others are saying, you're pregnant, not sick! the more you walk/stay active, the more endurance you'll have for labor ;)
Re: how to ease labor?
walk uphill!! 2-3 hours if you can!
but dont rest unless and until your doc has prescribed you bed rest!
Re: how to ease labor?
Im also 38 weeks preggers alhumdulillah and my midwife also suggested i walk as much as i can as that is the best natural way of inducing labour as well as eatin spicy food and intercourse!
Re: how to ease labor?
thankyou so much everyone!!!!

well thats a lot. u should walk only as much a u can but u should take plenty of rest too. keep ur feet high while resting to avoid swelling. even though u r not sick but still body doesn't remain That kind of active and doesn't need to be over-stressed.
Re: how to ease labor?
i'm working all day....like cooking cleaning washing etc....do i still need more walk?
Re: how to ease labor?
Mabrook..I should have mentioned that it's what I did... Alhamdulillah I didn't have any swelling and wanted to walk as much as possible..I was on my feet throughout the pregnancy so probably I needed more walk in the end to feel any different!
Akmoti...do what you are comfortable with..I was told to walk uphill by a yoga instructor..I did that on Friday for 2 hours n I was in labor Saturday morning.. Don't over do it!
Re: how to ease labor?
It's true. If you stay active through out your preg..lesser are the chances of inducing labour and coping with labour becomes much easier. Best of luck to mizz and you. Praying it goes all smoothly IA.
Just went through it and it is hard but not unbearable at all. :)
