How to dye dark hair

Seriously, how do you do it? I bought two boxes of Garnier Herbashine in the color 600 Light Natural Brown, the instructions stated I keep the color on for 10 mins, but since I have dark hair, I did 20-25 mins. My hair is washed and dried and it looks the same. I am SO disappointed! Did I leave something out? or should I have kept it on for longer? and I was concerned light brown would have been too light..ha!

unfortunately with dark hair u have to bleach it first

Hello

I have naturally jet black hair and i dye mine at home, however i buy the loreal creme excellence especially for dark hair i think its called in 'chesnut brown' and my hair goes a chocolately brown colour with that.

However i know some people who did have to bleach their hair before hand to strip off the colour...

If I wanna dye my hair brown, i usually buy a shade literally 5X lighter than the color I want on the box....usually the shade on the box is a really really light brown and then when I dye it the color comes out a dark brown the color I want..
