Is there a way to virtualize a 64-bit operating system on a Dual-core processor?
I have tried it on Microsoft Virtual-PC and Oracle’s Virtual Box.
Dual core processors don’t support 64-bit vistualization, but I’m looking for some hack to do it.

VMWare should work perfectly .. ..
Are you sure it allows that? It’s not free so I didn’t try it (because I didn’t want to put my new laptop at risk with a cracked software)

I have seen 64-bit OS running in VMWare without problems.
It should be fine.
true, but the real question is: How to run 64-bit OS in VMWare if the processor (Dual core) does not support 64-bit virtualization.

Oh, in that case I am afraid it will not be possible.
I haven’t seen x64 support on non x64 CPUs to date.

The CPU IS x64, but it does not have what is called VTTec feature.
So I was wondering if there could be any hack or crack for it to support 64 bit virtualization.

This is what I already tested as stated above.
I have yet to test it on VMWare as I’m still downloading it. But I believe, if Virtual PC and Virtual Box don’t support it, VMWare will also not support it.
that’s why I’m looking for some trick.

Just curious which x64 OS are you planning to run in the virtual machine? Apart from VMWare hacks you might also need to find OS relevant tweaks. There are some OS such as “Snow Leopard” etc. where virtualization is not officially supported.
What is your host system going to be? Windows/Linux?

In Virtual machine: Windows Server 2003 64-bit, Windows Server 2008 R2 (which is only available in 64-bit).
Host OS: Windows 7 64-bit.
But the damn processor hasn’t got VTTEC 
Just give it a shot with VMWare man. If it works, you are lucky, if not, you at least tried it.
And no, it won’t kill your host. Just to be on the safe side backup your important data and make an image of your host. So, nothing to lose,

What is your duel core processor?
It’s T4300 on Acer laptop, 4 GB RAM. It does not support 64-bit virtualization. Windows 7 64-bit.
Yeah thats right T4300 does not support VT.
And apart from CPU, motherboard and chipset also play a role if you want to run guest 64bit OS in VMWare.
You can download a processor check utility (just google VMWare processor check) to see if your CPU will support it.
