How to do Haleem Tarka

I have leftover frozen haleem that I’ll serve today for lunch. I took it out of the freezer last night. Can some one tell me how to refresh haleem with haleem tarka?

when I have to freshen up frozen haleem with tarka I heat some oil,add some sliced onion...fry till golden...add some chopped ginger and garlic and then hari mirch and zeera....after a few seconds pour onto the haleem...garnish with cilantro..serve...:)

I use the same tarka for fresh haleem too....:)

I used to hate it too…!!
but I like it somehow in haleem…but yeah you can always keep it on the side for those whow ant to add it to their plate…:slight_smile:

Tarka for haleem is similar to tarka for daal. Finely chop some onions. You may also chop garlic....although we don't use garlic for the tarka. Finely chop some ginger and green chillies. Fry the onions, ginger, and green chillies. When onions have turned brown....pour the entire mixture (oil, onions, ginger, chillies) on top of the cooked haleem. And you're done.

haha.. my mom would use big ol chunks, when she'd make aloo-keema..and i'd eat it thinking it was a piece of potato euuuuU! i love it but only as a paste...otherwise, NO!

Before getting married,when I used to live in Pakistan (:hinna:) ammi always used to add thinly sliced ginger to her dishes and I always used to pick it out…she used to get so angry just because she used to put in effort to slice it so thin and pyaar se…hehehhe
I dont mind it that much now…
