I was thinking that how ladies do facial who lives in USA. I been living here since 13 years and I never had any facial from salon, when I go to pakistan. I usually get there, but thats like every 4 to 5 years.
So I want to get some information about how to do facial at home, as I am seeing that my skin is dull and unclean.
All I do is just wash face and never used any other products on my skin.
Why don't you get a facial from a salon where you live?!? I'm born and raised in the US, and my aunts/cousins who have all moved here from Pakistan in the last 10-15 years all go to salons in our city for facials...it's not that big of a deal, nor expensive...just about any city in the US that has a desi population has Pakistani salons or women who run salons from home. I'm just curious as to why your haven't availed any of these services after living here for 13 years?!?
As for doing a facial at home..it's pretty easy...cleanse..exfoliate..steam..extract..masque..tone. It's all about the products you use.
Clarosinic cleansing systems are good to..as are at home chemical peels. There are lots and lots of threads here on GS about these. Just do a search for "chemical peels" "oil cleansing method" "skin care"...you'll find a lot of threads on these subjects

I recently had this discussion with a few friends, in Pakistan ladies tend to get more facials because it's dirt cheap to pay for it, here in north America if you go to a reputable salon/spa for a facial (european products application) that can cost you starting $90 and upwards....the Guinot facial that I like indulge in now n then costs me about $110 that's before taxes, so it definitely adds up.
As goes for doing facials at home, I wouldn't do it on myself since it can get messy, and I would want to make sure I am relaxed and not rushing or having to keep getting up to apply masque/creams; however khatti summed it up perfectly you can try her suggestions and see if that works for you.
I think it is the best idea we get facial in homes. Because we get facial in parlors it is very dangers for our skin. Those products have comical that’s damage our skin. If we have herbal products for facial in home. We get facial and filled relaxed.
No bijli in Pakistan, but wooohoooooo the awesome facials you can get done for like 20$! I got this one done last week,it was great...like super great..by a Chinese lady though!
I do cleansing, scrubbing etc, steam at times,mini-facial at home.Super-lazy at times.Same steps as everyone has mentioned.Do look up into facial massage on Youtube videos. It's a proper good massage that really makes a difference.
Professional ones are a good touchup every 3-4 months.
I have quick fixes I use if I don't have time for a proper facial.
There's an Aztec clay mask that is positively amazinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg...will pull everything out of your skin and you can feel it working.

That's sweet you do your mum's too!
Can you tell us how you do each thing e.g. deep cleanse, exfoliate, etc - what products do you use and what techniques?
I don't do anything at all to my skin I'm so bad. I wear make up about 4-5 times a week and just wipe it off with water and a make up remover wipe - never cleanse exfoliate anything... help!
