For the past three years, I find my skin and hair to be extremely oily. Virtually everyday, I am forced to shampoo my hair. I also get regular acne like pimples on my body.
What’s the best way to deal with oily hair and oily skin?

Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
hmmm wat do u mean "forced" to use shampoo?....i thought its a hygienal thing to use shampoo everyday or atleast every other day
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
eat less junk food, try to use an acne body wash by clean and clear or Neutrogena and try switching shampoo's regularly.
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
see dermatologist!
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
^^ best advice!
try clay masks at least once each week
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
Try a rinse of one part lemon juice with 3 parts water after you have shampoed. It smells great and the natural acid in the lemon keeps the oily hair at bay.
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
I have the opposite prob - dry skin and hair - so I dont have good advice on this but just wanted to tell you....
people with oily skin/hair during their youth tend to age really nicely, so much less prone to wrinkling and sagging skin, rarely getting stretch marks etc. So even though you're paying the price now, its worth it in the long run to have this "affliction"!!!
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
Soak lime juice over some cucumber slices for one hour. Then rub them on ur face, and leave on for half an hour then wash off with cold water. Spritzing with rose water throughout the day will help control oil too.
Lemon/lime juices r also good for ur hair also. Lol, there's nothing wrong with "forcing" urself to wash ur hair everyday, for oily hair it's necessary.

Is it really so, that oily skin slows down the agieng process?

Chop it off.
Re: How to deal with oily skin and oily hair?
means sunday afternoon for me, sorry, but i have family functiun this sunday, and french lunch last few hours:rolleyes:
…so i really will need a clay mask to clean my greasy skin after so much food:mad:…
i think oily skin is somewhat related to food…good diet helps
and sleep…lack of sleep means dryer skin, too much sleep means oily skin
also heating, i mean in winter skin is less prone to oil cause holes are tighten my cold, but central heating is a nightmare for oily skin, so i shut off heating in my room at night, allways.
bug me on msn anytime you wanna talk…![]()

Mr Sal,
I dont have any scientific data to back up what I said about oily-skinned people aging better but from what I've seen, it holds true in each and every case. I think oily skinned people have a thicker skin so it doesnt break down as easily and the extra oil helps keep it more hydrated and less prone to wrinkling. People with thin, dry skin are the most wrinkliest. Wanna trade?

well i have very thin and oily skin...so i'm doubtfull about your statement, but i'm a woman, and sal is a man, and man have far thicker skin that women
from what i've seen wrinkling is more due to weight yo yo and shape of face...for example chinese get wrinlkes very late compare to north africans, maybe 20years later on average...and whites are in the middle, don't know about desi
