I don’t understand how people pair lipstick and blush with their makeup looks. I understand the concept of not using bright lip color with dark eyes but I hardly ever wear smoky eyes I m usually wearing neutrals (brown, grays, toupes etc) and pinks. I have different shades of lip color but they are also not bright just browns nudes and corals. So how do I know what to pair with what? How do u girls know which lipcolor and blush to use?

If you wear pastels, stick to pinks (blush & lipstick)
If you wear dark colors such as brown, purple, emerald green use a brown blush and lipstick.
If you wear black or white you can do either smokey eyes and nude lips or neutral eyes and darker lips.

You make 1 thing the focus. Usually people do the lips or the eyes. If the eyes are dramatic, keep the lips low-key. Natural, pinks or peaches should be done. However, for something like reds on the lips, keep the eyes simple; simple shimmer or eyeliner+mascara would do.

i feel i look darker with blushes or idk like i have paleish skin tone blush doesnt reallyy look cool on me.

Try a cream or mousse formula that blends in well and looks more natural.

blushes, the rule of thumb is that in winters you can go deeper shades, but in summer go more light and natural. ie, corals and light pinks or something that is more your skin tone for summer and for winters you can go into darker shades of pinks.

what shades of blushes are you using? you have to find just the right shade considering the skin tone and the base tone as well. like, don't use something with a darker shade more lights and brighter shade.

The rule of thumb I've heard from alot of makeup artists is that if you're going heavy on the eyes don't go equally heavy on the lips, unless you're going for that vamp look.
I also don't do smokey eyes everyday only for special occasions so I tend to stick to nudes or pinks which are close to my natural lip colour.
If you want a bolder look you could even go for a red lip (not everyone can pull this off) but it defi screams powerful woman :D lol.
The nude shades I am in love with are by MAC = mehr, modesty, shy girl, viva glam 5&6
angel and lovelorn = pinkish tones
Blush depends on your makeup look. If its a sunny day and you want that sunkissed glow - go for burnt oranges or deep deep roses but apply very lightly.
For a lighter, natural look - go for light pinks or peaches.
Right now I love Taj Mahal by NARS for that sun kissed glow, absolutely beautiful on indian/pakistani skin tones. But the trick is to apply it lightly!
