how to check points on your dmv license?

in US. Anybody?

Re: how to check points on your dmv license?

you call your insurance company - they know it all =(

Other than that if you doubt you have points or forgotten how many it adds up to - then I think you can goto you local police station where they keep all report... I think

sorry don't know much... I had 4 points at one time and all I had to do was show up at court cry a little and they dropped 2 points. The other 2 point was my soul mate for a year.. it stayed with me =(

lol

Hey Jersey girl, I read from the DMV website that the points handling is different on license and insurance.
And as per my perception, license tickets get finished within 18 months and insurance tickets get finished in 36. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong.

Still, I want to know primarily , from where can I check how many points are on my DMV license... ofcourse i wont want to go to a police station for that. :)

i’m a good girl - you see

don’t know this info :meeno:

What’s the purpose of it SID? I believe you can just go there and fill out a form and they’ll give you your driving record. The form should be available ton their site too. Let me see if I can find it.

PS: Here it is:
http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/abstract.htm

There are some limitations but still…

Thanks TB. The purpose is simple, to check how many points hv i got on license so far. Actually I’d got 4 points earlier but then I took the defensive driving class so I just want to confirm if the points are finished or no.

Do you know if you have to submit the defensive class certificate to DMV or do anything else or does DMV get aware of it automatically??

Re: how to check points on your dmv license?

I believe the place where you take the course sends that information to the DMV themselves. To the insurance companies you have to fax/email them the certificate tho.
