it was odd… but yesterday i was discussing a rishta with my dad and i thought, its funny how time has changed our views on marriage..
when i say “our” i mean as in the “society”.. hence it could be different depending on where you live..
like i guess during our parents time, noone really thought about communication, trust, similarities, religious opinions and what not.. and thats probably why u see so many couples in their 50-60’s who after spending decades with one another, still cant have a proper conversation.. really sad
but then i wonder, why is this generation thinking about all these things.. when there are more divorces, affairs, breakups and what not happening now.. its strange no?
back then i guess it was just simple… the girl is fair and ache gharane ki tho shadi kardo.. and if the guy is earning a bit of money or has a job, its good stuff…
now i guess, those two things still matter quite a bit (sadly), but theres sooo much more criteria we have…
i still cant figure out which era i would have liked to be raised in… hmm
