In my case i tried… NONE worked for me.
I tried walking up hill nothing happened. I ate really spicy curry, ended up having diarreha. I ate one whole pineapple, ended up having sores in my mouth. Sex…didnt work out. I drank hot milk with pistachios and almonds and i am still pregnant. On the last appointment my doctor tried to break my water bag to get the things going but that didn’t work either. So now she is going to induce me next week.
Only castor oil is left but i am too scared to try it.

I was tired of all these methods too..went for a walk everyday and stayed active throughtout pregnancy still no luck..so I used my treadmill the day my labour started:blush: plus I drank yakhni with butter in it..it was yumm and it helped alot during labour

my sis always goes over-due and she would try everything to kick-start her labour. i guess in the end it's still all in allah ta'lah swt control when baby will be allowed to come. :)
oh and please don't use castor oil! it can be dangerous for your baby eg speeding up his heartbeat etc and causing him to excrete while still in the womb, as castor oil is a form of laxative. it has other dangerous side-effects to the baby which you can google.

it will happen, sometimes nothing can be done. dont worry, youll be induced soon, its a pain, but you waited 10 odd months, only another week or so to go.

my OB told me membrane sweep is a natural way of inducing labour. I had one at 38 weeks, 1 cm dilated. had the baby 48 hours later..so it worked for me. doesn't work for everyone I hear but worth a try.

i also got a membrane sweep done at the beginning of 37 weeks, as i was 4 cm dilated and baby's head was really low. but nothing happened. i entered 38th week with very strong irregular contractions that will just come and go. One night i felt very strong pains which i thought were coz of the huge dinner party i hosted but they started coming every 5 mins, so i went to the hospital. They checked me in triage and said that i was almost 5b cm dilated and contractions were 3 mins apart so i wont take long. She asked me to walk so that my water bag breaks. 3 hours passed nothing happened. I begged the nurse for epidural but she said i can make it with out it.......6 hours of contractions 2 mins apart and still in labor, so i screamed at them to give me the epidural and i really thank Allah that i did get it as the baby didnt come out after another 6 hours passed. so after 12 hours i was still pregnant with contractions 3 mins apart and 8 cm dilation. finally OB decided to break my water bag and said it will take an hour or so so i am going to deliver another baby. the moment he stepped out of the room, i started pushing.........he was delivered in the presence of a resident doctor and nurses after 30 mins of pushing.
I agree that it is totally worth the pain it but i am never going through it again.

How long should one wait before trying these natural methods? I am 39 weeks, have had few pains here and there. I have been trying my best to walk as much as possible. Family is suggesting butter, pistachios, almonds, dried dates and warm milk drink but i am scared of gaining extra weight. I have maintained myself pretty good so far.

When I was pregnant and fed up of it, I read somewhere that eating fresh pineapples would induce labor. I ate pineapples like a crazy person and had gained 11lbs in a week by doing so 
Lusi walk walk and walk some more! Baby will drop! As I said in the other thread .. intercourse will(or it did with me) induce labor in most cases.
