Just call them and let them know that it won’t work out. It’s a sticky spot to be in but must be done. If they ask for a reason, then tell them that the father or mother does not think it will work out.

OK. This ‘may’ work in some situations.

Some people use soft words for rejection like istakhara theek nahi aya etc. Some people use harsh words for rejection like larki sawali hai , larki moti hai , larka ganja hai , larka kamata acha nahi hai , khaandan nahi pasand aya etc.

I knew someone who rejected a girl just because the girl’s mother was wearing kanch ki bangles instead of gold bangles. So the reason can be as stupid as this.

Similarly, someone asked my parents to find a bride for their son my parents knew a friend’s daughter who was in marriageable age so they introduced them the meeting took place in our home I was there myself. Both boy and girl sat together , the girl was very talented and she is quite well known for her talent here but us larki sey ek ghalti ho gayee she asked the guy if he knows how to cook. She even told him that she travelled to some country alone where her sibling was residing . The guy immediately rejected her and gave the reason “yeh kesi larki hai mujh sey poochti hai kay khana pakana atta hai ya nahi aur kitni tez hai foreign country akeley chali gayee !!!” My parents were in a very awkward position later on because they had to communicate the NO. Luckily , the girl’s family did not even bothered to ask

It’s a very difficult position to be in. Because sometimes someone ends up getting hurt !

If the guy is so stupid or trying to be smart on rejecting her for the reasons described, then she is better off without being with him.

What’s the harm in knowing how to cook? My mother insisted that I learn basic cooking when I turned 16. Now at least I can eat if no one else is around. Unlike the desi men who just sit there grumbling about how hungry they are lol
