How does Ramadan affect people on a personal level. People make preparations from a physical perspective. Getting ready to fast etc. But from a personal and emotional standpoint what kind of changes do you do.
There are inconveniences in the sense that you would not be able to do some heavy work etc. How do you deal with it.
Being a non-muslim(agnostic) it helps to understand the religion better.
Most of the year being a muslims is some where from lip service to group association.

Personal discipline is a by product which comes out it.

Self Discipline is definitely a very big part of it. Also, a time to reflect on the conditions of others from among our community who endure being without food because of their circumstances and can only afford to eat one time a day. This is perhaps more true for many in other parts of the world that are ravaged by wars, bloodshed, or just outright lack of opportunity.
I think it is the point where a person says to himself that 'I want to change myself, my lifestyle, my attitude, my way of thinking etc.,' (like I want to be good and If I was good then I want to be better or would like to do better then before).
In simple words 'A person will become aware of his/her potential, strength, and abilities. :)
