So we hear our mommies & every other woman around us say that child birth is very painful.
Those who went through it, how painful is it actually? Is it true its the most painful thing in the world and if it is how did you all forget about it all so suddenly when you saw the baby?
mine pregnancy period was very painful as i vomitted for 7.20 months not a single day went fine it was very tuff for me....and my water bag ruptured in 7.14 month and i was admitted to the hospital for six days those days in the hospital i was okay but water leaking all the time :P and on 6th day finally i started having pains i was calling the doctor again n again that i am in pain and she was so sweet she was rubbing my hand and saying abhi tou yeh dard sahi se start bhi nahi hua hia :S then she asked me whether i want to go for epidural....i said ok (i didnt know what epidural is i was in so much pain that i agreed....then a last vomit i did :D
they injected epidural at 2:45pm and at 3:15pm i heard the voice of my daughter and i smiled :)...after epidural was injected i was normal yeah i felt the waves of pain but those were bearable....i wonder i dont remember the pain i went through that is just because that pain is worth you child.......

lolz......life is easy once you get epidural......
you have to be still when they are injecting epidural thats it.....it makes delivery soooooo easy for the people like me who are REALLY scared of pain........till now i am not having any problems due to epidural......if anyone else had please share
my first one was 9hours of labour my second one was 8 hours of labour pain and sudden c-section .. most painful part of both pregnancies my weight gain i blow up like a baloon everytime
I didnt take an epi but i felt the initial part of labor was bearable if i kept walking around. Ofcourse it wasnt easy or a piece of cake. Things started getting intense once i hit transition and even after my daughter was born, i was still in pain thanks to the third degree tear i had. I had to wait for God knows how long till the gyno could come and sew me up. Only then was i able to enjoy my daughter.
I was talking to someone at yoga class regarding the pain fo child birth and she said, yes it hurts but it's not like your finger has been cut kind of pain.. it's very different.. and also most of the time we associate pain as something wroing with our body but labor pain isnt that kind of pain.. it's bearable!
and from what I know, there is nothing wrong with taking epidural that eases up the pain.. after all, it's not like we are going to get the highest place in jannah if we refused epidural.. I dont plan to put myself in pain if not needed!!
but again I havent given birth yet.. I will report back later.. until then I am just going to tell myself that women have done this for centuries.. we can do it too!!

lucky you MA ... :D i wish to have an easy, smooth labour too.. These days the painful labour is what is freaking me out. I think I do have a low pain threshold and I really don't want to spend my third trimester just getting anxious over what's going to come. So is epidural safe as anesthesia?
^First baby is usually more difficult, I hated laying position, in hospital they didn't let me move around so with my 3rd kid I decided for homebirth and I was free to walk around so I was more in control of m body and pain.
Enigmatic
I had pethidine for my first one but it didn't help, it delayed the labour. They were about to give me epidural but it was too late then and I had to give birth without it.
