depends on who ur loved one is. (ie parents, siblings, neices and nephews, ur kids etc)
but if you are referring to ur significant other saying " i love you "many times throughout the day can become a bit overrated.

To parents & siblings, family, I don't say very often because I guess we all know that we love each other and its not conditional with them.
To significant other, hmmm not sure how it works. Need to have one first.
