Yup! Some one pointed out that to me once and the funny thing was I did not even remember I had worn that outfit at some other party. I though it was very strange that she pointed that out. If I really like something western/eastern, I repeat it. It does not bother me a bit.
I only wear each outfit one time in each of my group...we have about 3-4 groups that we hang out with. Each group is very small and we have parties often...so if I repeat an outfit everybody will notice.
My hubby hate this habit of mine...but then I showed him how almost all of the ladies in our group do the same thing. Fancy outfit - I only get maybe 1 a year and I do only wear that once or twice.
I repeat outfits mostly in different social circles. I get invited to many desi events so people I guess do see them as the same people are at different events even though I try not to repeat the outfits within the same crowd. I think people remember the dresses more when they see them instead of FaceBook. So I don't care about that. Can't not repeat outfits. I go to many events and I believe in quality vs quantity as well.
I repeat outfits all the time. If someone says "I remember you wearing that already" I just reply with " at my house, I have this thing called a washing machine" :) Shuts them up.
sick how some people think. if someone has paid gd money for an outfit, wear it more than once yaar!!!!!! my mom wears her beautiful outfits that are more than ten yrs old! i recently got a chunri outfit made, with a lehenga at the bottom instead of pants. i plan to wear it to a wedding this year and the next year and henceforth keep it in my collection for future use as chunri is so classic! if someone talks about me repeating an outfit , that person is very silly for sure. i do not judge people if they repeat an outfit, but yes i do admit that it does come into my mind that hey ive seen that dress on her before.
Couldn't care less about people. I have a jacket that I've been wearing regularly to college/work and some other places for 3 years now. No one's said a word. But then again, if you judge someone you deserve to be treated like that.
Repeating outfits is a must and is executed very systematically for me. There are three types of functions I wear formal-wear at: my family gathering; susraal family gathering, or a miscellaneous event. I would wear the same outfit at each gathering at least twice, so probably get to wear an outfit around 6 times. I've been married over a year, made about 10 formal jahez suits, and still haven't gotten all my 'show time' on them yet :D
I have 3 black abaya’s and I wear those alternatively, washing it every third or second day. One of them is 3 years old now and has not worn out AT ALL (MA) so I dont mind wearing it regularly
Formals/casuals I repeat and wear them till the time I get too fat to fit in
Couldn’t care less for people who have nothing better to do than count the number of times I’ve worn an outfit .
Instead of trashing a perfectly good outfit, I try to achieve different looks by changing my makeup, hairstyle, and accessories. I also have a lot of mix-n-matchable salwars and dupattas that I pair with different kurtis.
I repeat outfits 2-3 times, they are wo expensive and such a waste to wear once and by the time you wear ot in a different crowd it might be out of fashion. I have seen people repeating their outfits and I sometimes remember their outfit but it doesn't make me think "oh she wore the dress again" i think good on her getting her moneys worth and sometimes think she is wearing it nicer than last time. Different hair, accessories styling etc
Nice to see that people don't mind repeating outfits! I think it's crazy that some girls only wear each outfit once (especially the expensive party wear).
We have a few desi aunties in our social circle that actually remember what EVERY girl has worn to EVERY event dating back at least 7 years. I like repeating outfits....especially in front of these types of aunties!!!! The more they notice people repeating outfits....the more it makes me want to repeat them. HAHAHAHA
I've no problem repeating outfits, I actually call it amortizing an outfit when I get multiple wears out of it. Let's say it cost $300. If I wear it 6 times, that means, each wear only cost me $50 which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more affordable than to pay $300 on a single evening.
Yes, I do make an effort to wear it in different crowds/social circles and barring that, I'll keep enough of a gap between wearing it between events and try to make it look different with a different hairstyle or jewellery.
And the best, if when you can re-purpose an outfit - meaning making lighter or heavier with different dupatta or shalwar versus trousers so it almost looks like a new outfit.
I do think it's wasteful to wear an outfit only once and no amount of OMG - what will people say that I wore an outfit twice can ever justify a single-wear of it, IMO.
i repeat my outfits , as i want to become comfortable with my budget, and i am happy with that , " ek din k function ke peechey 1 month khrab ni ker sakti"
I only wear an outfit once. If I wear something again it's usually in front of a different group. It would be better if we made less clothes. Women are just greedy :(

exactly!!! now i feel better abt getting a 230 dollars outfit made.
I don't like doing it but sometimes I do. I usually rewear an outfit in the same year in different crowds and events. However since the last wedding in my family in 2012, I haven't made many new clothes. This summer I will have to stock up with 2-3 new suits though because I don't like wearing my really heavy outfits for outside of the family events.

Hahah I love that. My husband would really appreciate that as well haha. I actually loooove repurposing! So I have been wanting to turn a couple of my old shirts into pencil skirts, and one or two into the new crop top styles or something. It's better than donating some of my really really heavy nice stuff away. Turning it into American wear keeps it more classic and timeless I think. Bold prints and colors similar to what we have in style rightnow come back every couple of years. This spring m/summer is showing metallics, beading, intricate details for even casual wear all over the place. I'm a huge DIYer so I just love that stuff. :)
